Consequences

Homework
One of the goals of this class is to try to provide as much class time as possible for students to complete work in class. However, occasionally, things happen and they may need to finish it at home but should have no more than 30 minutes of homework outside of class. We do work the full 90 minutes of class so if a student misses class they will have about 90 minutes of work to make up. If you are spending more time than 30 minutes every other day on homework please contact me and set up a one to one meeting. We may need to look at how you are spending your time and see what other ways I can help you be successful.
Tardies
In order for you not to be marked tardy you must be in your seat and ready to start class when the bell rings.
Students are expected to be honest and ethical. Students will be expected to completed all assignments and tests by their own efforts. Copying any work you do not produce (this includes work from the internet) is considered cheating. If you share your work with a friend and they copy the work it is also consider cheating. If a student is caught cheating you will automatically receive a “0” on the assignment or test and parents and/or administration will be notified of the situation.
Test Policies
Tests must be taken on the scheduled test day even though the student was absent the previous class period. If a student is absent on the test day, the student must make arrangements with Mrs. Petty the following class period back to schedule a time to make up the test. Only students with excused absences will be allowed to make up the test.

Points earned on projects, quizzes, and assessments may be weighted when calculating the final grade. Percentages are converted into the letter grades as assigned by the scale below:

Daily Homework Assessments

If you abuse class time and do not finish it in class you must complete it at home and turn it in the next class period. It is your responsibility to complete the work outside of class and arrange time with Mrs. Petty for the lab, if needed. Every homework assignment will have a rubric associated to it. This category is worth 50% of your grade.
- These points are awarded by completing daily quizzes, unit tests, and your cross curricular projects. See below for how a multiple choice exam will be graded using mastery grading. This category is worth 50% of your grade.
