Consequences
If students choose not to follow the above expectations, or classroom rules, the following consequences may be administered:
Homework
One of the goals of this class is to try to provide as much class time as possible for students to complete work in class. However, occasionally, things happen and they may need to finish it at home but should have no more than 30 minutes of homework outside of class. We do work the full 90 minutes of class so if a student misses class they will have about 90 minutes of work to make up. If you are spending more time than 30 minutes every other day on homework please contact me and set up a one to one meeting. We may need to look at how you are spending your time and see what other ways I can help you be successful.
Tardies
In order for you not to be marked tardy you must be in your seat and ready to start class when the bell rings.
Cheating
Students are expected to be honest and ethical. Students will be expected to completed all assignments and tests by their own efforts. Copying any work you do not produce (this includes work from the internet) is considered cheating. If you share your work with a friend and they copy the work it is also consider cheating. If a student is caught cheating you will automatically receive a “0” on the assignment or test and parents and/or administration will be notified of the situation.
Grading Procedure
Grades will be updated to Aspire by Monday morning. Students grades will be based on mastery of specific standards. Mastery will be demonstrated through written or performance assessments. An example of the rubric that will be used in case is below:

BR Journals must be started upon class entry and completed within 2-3 minutes of the tardy bell. Your responses will be written in your composition notebook. If you are absent it is your responsibility to check the BR Journal tab on my website and complete the reflection in your notebook. Your composition notebook will be turned in on "B" day Friday's (usually averages every other week). If you have any missing responses at this time you will NOT be able to make it up. Journals will be graded using the rubric below. This category is worth 10% of your grade.

If you abuse class time and do not finish it in class you must complete it at home and turn it in the next class period.
